Doll Hospital

I was very close to bidding on a sweet PM #3 last night, but decided to save my pennies after reminding myself how much I want to find a WB Kirsten. ^_^ At the moment, there's only one white-body Kirsten on eBay (At least, I only found one...), but the poor dear lost a fight (and chunks of her feet) with a dog. To fix her up, would the hospital charge the limb replacement fee for both legs or per limb? I'm wondering if the low price she's at would be worth it in the long run. ThanksInAdvance! =)

I think it is one price for all limbs. If it were per limb, you could buy a new doll, KWIM?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">My thoughts exactly! $30 for each leg (plus possibly another $30 for an arm) would buy me Emily! But if it's a flat fee for any number of limbs it would be worth it. ^_^

I did send in an AGOT earlier this year for a new head and she needed a new right leg.
I don't know if they replaced all the limbs-I left her in the box and sold her to buy DD's Molly doll.

Depending on how "fussy" you are, I'd be careful with this idea. I've got two WB Mollys and two WB Kirstens here, and all of their limbs are "squishier" than the newer PM and Mattel ones. I guess what I am trying to say is that your WB Kirsten, if you win this one, might come home from the hospital with Mattel legs. Or, if the hospital thinks they can't match the legs, you could conceivably end up with a whole new doll (definitely NOT what you would want in this case).

You've only found one wb Kirsten recently? I recommend to start scouring ebay more thoroughly and asking sellers questions about the body color. I know I'd found at least three or four (not counting the chewed up Kirsten) recently just by asking.

We actually just won one for $62 with her box because she was listed "American doll Kirsten" and no one else thought to ask. [img]wink.gif[/img]

If you do decide to start asking, make sure you describe the difference in body color nicely. The white of the white-body dolls is really an off-white/beige color and I describe the tan bodies as matching the doll's limbs, or close to an ace bandage.

Thanks so much for the help! ^_^ I've searched for a WB Kirsten in every way I could think of without much luck, but I probably should look at some other Kirstens that may be a hidden WB. I really should have thought of that. [img]tongue.gif[/img] Let me know if you find one before I do, I'd really appreciate it. ^_^
